The current timing of the clearing of PJM’s Day-ahead market limits the ability of generators to submit timely gas nominations to the gas pipelines. Natural gas generators do not know their Day-ahead Energy Market commitments before nominations are due so even if they hold firm gas transportation its value is eroded.
