Compliance

PJM is committed to full compliance with all applicable North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) and regional reliability standards as well as North American Energy Standards Board (NAESB) business standards. We work to ensure ongoing communication with our Members on the status of our compliance and on all compliance-related activities through the Reliability Standards and Compliance Subcommittee. To join this subcommittee and it’s email list, go to the Roster and Mailing Lists Updates Form, and enter your contact information and “Reliability Standards and Compliance Subcommittee” in the affected committees field.

Compliance Bulletins are also available and provide clarity surrounding ambiguous language in the published NERC Reliability Standards and provide guidance to the PJM Standard Owners and PJM Members to assist with PJM’s compliance with the standards. See the Critical Asset Determination document for additional assistance on how to deal with TO/GO compliance issues.

Corporate Compliance Program
PJM has several internal departments and personnel involved with compliance efforts in many areas, including, but not limited to, Code of Conduct, North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) reliability standards, tariff compliance, policies and procedures, security and more.

In order to maintain an effective enterprise-wide compliance management and enforcement program, and to coordinate and enhance PJM’s culture of compliance, PJM formed a standing chartered internal committee, the Regulatory Oversight and Compliance Committee (ROCC) to manage PJM’s group compliance efforts. This internal committee is not a PJM stakeholder committee.

If you have any questions about the ROCC, please contact Steven Pincus, committee chair.
