eTools

PJM Interconnection's eTools are a group of Internet-based software applications that give members access to a continuous flow of real-time energy data that enables them to make business decisions and manage their transactions.

For markets to function effectively, the participants need information - and the ability to act on it quickly. Real-time price information allows members to follow market fluctuations and make rapid buy and sell decisions. If prices are rising, sellers can come into the market, while buyers may decide to shift their operations or buy power elsewhere.

Information on each eTool can be found on the Tool Information Web page.

eSuite Login to access any of the following eSuite applications.

  • Committee Voting: Committee Voting is an Internet application created to facilitate voting at selected PJM committee meetings.
  • eCredit: eCredit is a Web tool used by PJM Members to:
    • View their credit position,
    • Allocate credit between both subaccounts and markets within subaccounts (Financial Transmission Rights[FTR], Reliability Pricing Model [RPM] or energy),
    • Request collateral refunds, and
    • View/download relevant credit reports.
  • eData: eData enables all PJM stakeholders to view PJM operational and market data graphically.
  • EES:Enhanced Energy Scheduler (EES) facilitates the exchange of bulk power between PJM and other Control Areas by enabling market participants to request, evaluate, track and confirm their external bilateral transactions.
  • eFTR: eFTR (Financial Transmission Rights) is used by members and other transmission customers to manage their FTR portfolios.
  • eLRS: allows PJM members to administer the registration, notification, meter data and settlement process for demand side response resources in the PJM markets. Note that bids into the PJM wholesale market occurs directly in eMkt for energy and ancillary services and eRPM for capacity.
  • eMKT: eMKT allows PJM members to submit information and obtain data needed to conduct business in the Day-Ahead, Regulation and Synchronized Reserve markets.
  • eMTR: eMTR calculates a market participant’s actual interchange energy amounts to be used for real-time energy market settlements.
  • eRPM: The PJM eRPM system is an Internet-based application used by Market Participants to submit resource-specific sell offers or buy bids into RPM Auctions.
  • OASIS: Open Access Same-Time Information System (OASIS) provides access to transmission services and transmission system information.
  • Opportunity Cost Calculator: The eMKT Opportunity Cost Calculator calculates the maximum opportunity cost allowable for a particular unit’s restriction. This calculation method has been approved by stakeholders and the PJM Board, but may not be used until we have approval from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (Docket EL08-47).

Other eTools

  • eDART: eDART (Dispatcher Applications and Reporting Tool) is used by transmission and generation owners to exchange operational and planning data with the PJM control center.
  • eDataFeed:eDataFeed is a PJM Web service that allows subscribers to select and “stream” PJM selected real-time Locational Marginal Price (LMP) data directly into their system.
  • Gas Pipeline: The purpose of the gas pipeline application is to monitor critical notifications about the gas pipelines that supply natural gas to generators contributing their capacity to PJM Interconnection. Upon detection of a critical notification the system will display the critical notifications to users accessing the system.
  • Load Response: Load Response was replaced with the new eLRS system. Load Response is in read only mode to allow members to review their prior DSR information.
