PJM Interconnection operates the largest wholesale electricity market in the world as the regional transmission organization that manages the electric power-supply system in 13 states and the District of Columbia -- from Illinois to New Jersey and from Pennsylvania to North Carolina. Since 1997, when its competitive wholesale market began operating, PJM and its members have employed a dynamic collaborative process that has expanded the number of markets in the region. Acting neutrally and independently, PJM establishes systems and rules to ensure that the markets operate fairly and efficiently. More than 450 members participate in PJM’s markets. Using sophisticated information technology, PJM provides market participants with a variety of online resources and eTools to assist them in making business decisions and carrying out their transactions. PJM has administered about $71 billion in energy and energy-service trades since the regional markets opened. PJM's Energy, Capacity, Synchronized Reserve and Regulation markets provides opportunities for demand response resources to participate and receive payments for demand reductions. PJM's initiatives to integrate demand response into its wholesale markets provide equivalent treatment for generation and demand resources. You can follow the links below to get more information on PJM’s markets: Energy Market provides information on PJM’s Day-Ahead and Real-Time markets.
