System Restoration Workshop


Course Title: System Restoration Workshop
Description: This course presents the principles of system restoration and their application in total and
partial system shutdowns. Topics include causes and processes of blackouts, transmission
restoration, blackstart of generation, load restoration, and reserves during restoration.
Simulation software in a small group setting will be utilized to practice restoration of a
small generic power system. This training is targeted to transmission and generation
system operators.

PJM is recognized by the North American Electric Reliability Council as a continuing education provider who adheres to NERC Continuing Education Program Criteria. This course series is recognized for up to 16 continuing education hours.

Prerequisites: This is a system-operator-level course. It is recommended that the individual has completed Gen 101, 201,
301, and Ops 101 course series or Transmission 101 and Operations 101 or equivalent.

There is no charge to PJM Members. Non-Members are charged a nominal fee. Please contact TrainingSupport@pjm.com for more details.
