EFORp & Peak Hour Period Availability Training

PJM EFORp & Peak Hour Period Availability Training will discuss the Equivalent Peak Period Forced Outage Rate (EFORp) statistic calculated for non-intermittent generation resources and how EFORp is used in the PJM Capacity Market performance assessment known as Peak Hour Period Availability (PHPA). This course will explain the overall EFORp equation and the process used to calculate each of the components of the EFORp equation. Examples of calculating the EFORp for a unit and the components of the EFORp equation will be provided.

This course will also explain the purpose of PHPA Assessment in the PJM Capacity Market and discuss how unit PHPA shortfalls are calculated and netted across a supplier’s portfolio. The course will provide examples of how PHPA charges are calculated and allocated to over-performing suppliers and LSEs. In addition, the course will discuss specifying replacement capacity to cure/reduce unit PHPA shortfalls.
