The 10 members of the PJM Board are responsible for maintaining PJM's independence and, by exercising their prudent business judgment, ensuring that PJM fulfills its business obligations and legal and regulatory requirements. The Board also is responsible for ensuring that PJM maintains the reliability of the power grid and operates a robust, competitive and non-discriminatory electric power market, preventing any market participants from having undue influence over the operation of PJM. To establish PJM's neutrality, Board members must adhere to a strict Code of Conduct (PDF). The members of the PJM Board may have no personal affiliation or ongoing professional relationship with, or any financial stake in, any PJM market participant. In addition, all communication received by the PJM Board are handled in accordance with the rules relating to “ex parte” communications as outlined in the Code of Conduct. Written communication to members of the PJM Board are reviewed by an appointed staff liaison to the Board to ensure prompt disclosure of any “ex parte” communication in accordance with the Code of Conduct. Mr. Schneider is a director at Navigant Economics where he provides business consulting and expert witness services primarily in the futures and derivatives area. Prior to that, Mr. Schneider was general counsel at MF Global, a futures commission merchant that acts as executing and clearing broker on all major commodity exchanges. He was formerly a partner at Katten Muchin Rosenman and its predecessor firms where he concentrated on the practice of futures/derivatives, securities and corporate law. He is the former chair of the American Bar Association Committee on Regulation of Futures and Derivative Instruments. He served as the first general counsel of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission from 1975 to 1977. |

Mr. Eury worked for Carolina Power & Light Company (CP&L) for 35 years in a wide variety of engineering and operating assignments. He was elected executive vice president in 1989 with responsibility for all of the company’s generation and transmission facilities. He also served as a member of the company’s board of directors. Mr. Eury retired from CP&L in 1994 and has since served as an engineering and management consultant. |

For more than 25 years, Dr. Almgren has led business entities providing electric equipment and systems. Since 2003 he heads his own consulting company, Orkas Inc., which is focused on new energy technologies. Dr. Almgren is president and CEO of International Battery. He was president and CEO of Capstone Turbine Corporation from 1998 to 2003. Prior to Capstone, he was president of several ABB companies involved in electric transmission and distribution worldwide. |

Dr. Kinsey, Professor Emeritus of the Department of Applied Economics at the University of Minnesota where she taught and conducted research between 1976 and 2010. She was the Director of The Food Industry Center at the UMN for 15 years. From 1996 to 1997, she chaired the board of the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis. Dr. Kinsey is both a past president and a distinguished fellow of the American Council on Consumer Interests and of the Agricultural and Applied Economics Association. |

Dr. Lahey is currently the Edward E. Hood Professor Emeritus of Engineering and was formerly the Dean of Engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Prior to joining the Rensselaer faculty and administration, he held numerous technical and managerial positions with the General Electric Company. He is a member of the National Academy of Engineering (NAE) and is an international authority on nuclear reactor safety technology. He has almost 50years of industrial/academic experience in the application of advanced technology to practical problems. |

Mr. Mayben served as president and chief executive officer of the Nebraska Public Power District from 1995 to 2002. Since then, he has provided management consulting services to public sector and private nonprofit transmission providers in the electricity industry. He spent more than 30 years at R.W. Beck & Associates, a national engineering and management consulting firm, retiring as managing partner and CEO in 1994. He has served on the board of directors and executive committee of the American Public Power Association and the Large Public Power Council during the early stages of deregulation of the electric industry. |

Mr. Robinson serves as the vice president- Legal Affairs and General Counsel for the Regents of the University of California where he is the chief legal officer. He previously served for nine years as vice president, general counsel, and corporate secretary for the California ISO. Prior to that, Mr. Robinson was assistant general counsel and director of litigation for Packard Bell NEC, division counsel for Raychem Corporation, and was a partner at the Heller Herman White and McAuliffe law firm. He graduated with his juris doctor from Yale University in 1983 and earned his bachelor of arts from Harvard University in 1979. |

Prior to joining PJM, Mr. Boston was the executive vice president of the Tennessee Valley Authority's Power System Operations. Mr. Boston joined TVA as a power supply engineer in 1972 and held various leadership positions over the next 35 years. Mr. Boston is chair of the North American Transmission Forum focused on operational excellence and best practices for the grid. Mr. Boston serves as a U.S. vice president of the International Council of Large Electric Systems (CIGRE), and vice president of the Consortium for Electric Reliability Technology Solutions. He is on the DOE advisory council for the Advanced Research Projects Agency--Energy (ARPA-E). He serves on the study group of the National Infrastructure Advisory Council (NIAC) that provides the President and DHS with advice on the security and resilience of critical infrastructure. He has served for six years on the NERC Engineering Committee and Transmission Task Force and currently serves on the NERC Members Committee. Mr. Boston was one of eight U.S./Canadian industry experts selected to direct the NERC investigation of the August 2003 Northeast/Mid-west blackout. |
