In-Person Attendance at PJM Meetings

The list below is applicable to open stakeholder meetings. Secured stakeholder meetings (e.g., Liaison Committee and TOA-AC) have more stringent attendance restrictions as defined in their respective Charters and require additional user access for meeting registration. In-person attendance at PJM meetings is generally permitted for:

  • PJM Members
  • Consultants (agent, proxy, etc) for a PJM Member
  • Government employees with official PJM business
  • Employees of a PIEOUG-rostered organization PDF
  • Individuals who are an employee of, or employee of a company that is a member of, a national or regional trade organization/industry that is known in our industry
  • Credentialed media whose job requires regular in-person attendance or receives advance permission from PJM Corporate Communications in writing

PJM reserves the right to deny virtual or in-person attendance to any individual, including any of the above categories, for violations of PJM’s Code of Conduct as detailed in PJM Manual M-34 section 4.5.

“Credentialed Media” means individuals who meet the following criteria:

  • Media affiliation: The individual is employed by, or is an authorized representative of, an established news organization, newspaper, magazine, broadcast outlet, trade publication, digital news organization, or other regularly published news or information service that produces original editorial content for a general or specialized audience.
    • Freelance or independent media representatives may qualify if they can provide evidence of a current assignment or recent published work for an established media organization or publication.
  • Editorial role: The individual is attending in connection with newsgathering, reporting, editing, photography, videography, or another legitimate editorial function.
  • Verification: PJM may request reasonable documentation to verify media affiliation and purpose, including press credentials, organizational identification, a current masthead listing, recent bylined or credited work, an assignment from an editor, or confirmation from the individual’s media organization.
  • Company discretion: The Company reserves the right to determine whether an individual meets these criteria and to request additional information reasonably necessary to verify eligibility.

Requirements for membership

  • Meet the definition of a transmission owner, generation owner, other supplier, electric distributor or end-use customer (learn more about Membership & Sector Selection)
  • PJM Settlement, Inc. has a credit policy that applies to all new applicants, members, market participants and transmission service customers who use services or participate in the PJM Interconnection markets. The policy may be viewed in the Open Access Transmission Tariff WEB | PDF - Attachment Q.
