This module demonstrates the voltage rise due to the Ferranti effect when a transmission line is opened at one end. It shows the change in MVAR flow that accompanies the voltage rise. It also will display the characteristics of a transmission line below, at and above its Surge Impedance Loading (SIL). And finally, demonstrate the effects of insertion and removal of shunt capacitor banks on bus voltage and how the MVAR supplied by a capacitor changes when the bus voltage changes.
