Mobile App Privacy Policy

  1. Introduction 
    This Privacy Policy applies to the PJM Now mobile application ("App") provided by PJM Interconnection, LLC ("PJM", "we", "us", or "our"). The App provides informational content related to PJM services. This policy reflects the practices described in PJM's Privacy Policy and Notice (Revised 04/30/2026) and is adapted for mobile application use and Google Play requirements.
  2. Information Collection and Use 
    The PJM Now App does not require user registration and does not directly collect personal information such as name, email address, or contact details. The PJM Now App only collects a device identifier (Device ID). No other personal or sensitive user information such as name, email, phone number, or location is collected. The Device ID is used only for essential app functionality, including performance monitoring, and crash prevention. It is not used for advertising, profiling, or tracking users across apps or services.
    However, certain information may be collected automatically through third-party services used for analytics and app performance monitoring, consistent with PJM's broader privacy practices regarding automated data collection. 
  3. Automatically Collected Information 
    The App may automatically collect limited technical and usage information through integrated services, including:
    • Device information (e.g., model, operating system version) 
    • App usage data (e.g., screens viewed, interactions) 
    • Crash reports and diagnostic data 

    This information is collected via Firebase and similar technologies and is used to monitor, analyze, and improve application performance. 
    This aligns with PJM's use of automated technologies such as log files and analytics tools as described in its Privacy Policy. 

  4. Third-Party Services 
    The App uses Firebase, a service provided by Google, for analytics and performance monitoring. 
    Firebase may collect and process data according to its own privacy policies. For more information, please visit:

    PJM does not control and is not responsible for the data practices of third-party services. 

  5. Data Sharing 
    PJM does not sell personal data. 
    Data collected through Firebase is processed by Google and used solely for analytics and application performance monitoring, consistent with PJM's use of third-party service providers acting on its behalf. Google services are used, data may be processed by Google for backend functionality only.
  6. Data Security 
    PJM maintains administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorized access, disclosure, or misuse. 
    Data processed via Firebase is handled in accordance with Google's applicable security standards. 
  7. User Rights and Choices 
    Because the App does not directly collect personally identifiable information, users are not required to submit personal data to use the App. 
    To the extent any data may be considered personal information under applicable laws, users may have rights to access, correct, or delete such information as described in PJM's Privacy Policy. 
  8. Data Retention 
    Information collected through third-party services is retained only for as long as necessary to fulfill analytics and performance purposes, consistent with PJM's general data retention practices. The Device ID is retained only as long as necessary for app functionality and service operation and is removed when no longer required.
  9. Transfers of Data 
    PJM does not knowingly transfer personal information outside of the United States unless authorized. 
    However, data processed through Firebase may be transferred and stored by Google in accordance with its global infrastructure and policies.
  10. External Links 
    The App may contain links to external websites such as https://www.pjm.com. PJM is not responsible for the privacy practices of those websites. 
  11. Children’s Privacy 
    The App is not directed to children under the age of 13, and PJM does not knowingly collect personal information from children. 
    If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us and we will take appropriate action. 
  12. Changes to This Policy 
    This Privacy Policy may be updated periodically to reflect changes in practices. Updates will be posted within the App or associated listing.
