Membership Enrollment
PJM offers several different types of membership. Members take part in PJM’s stakeholder process, which provides a forum for those with a stake in the wholesale electric industry to discuss and work through issues related to PJM markets, operations, public policies, and current and future industry matters. Membership is required to participate in the markets and to access other key privileges, but not all members are market participants. In addition to other criteria, prospective PJM members are required to qualify for at least one of the five Members Committee sectors: Transmission Owner, Generation Owner, Electric Distributor, End-Use Customer and Other Supplier.

Full Members may participate in the wholesale electricity market and are broken down into two types of membership: Voting Members and Affiliate Members. Voting Members may vote at the Senior Standing Committees. Affiliate Members are in the same family of companies as a Voting Member and do not have voting rights at the Senior Standing Committees.
